My Story
Aida Victoria Nakityo, born on August 26th, 1997, is a talented Ugandan-American AfroPop and RnB singer, songwriter, designer, and entrepreneur. Widely known as Aida Vee, she has made a remarkable mark in the music industry and beyond.
Born in Nsyambya hospital, Uganda, Aida Vee’s birth date makes her an August Virgo. Her last name, Nakityo, holds significance as it means “born after twins” in Luganda, the language of the Baganda people. Additionally, she hails from the Dog Clan, a respected lineage within the Buganda kingdom, further enriching her cultural heritage.
Aida Vee’s artistic journey began as one of the founders and lead singer of the Urbana Band, a dynamic live performing group known for their versatility across genres. Her outstanding vocal abilities and stage presence garnered recognition, and she secured multiple talent and creativity awards during her time at Vienna College Namugongo.
Even at a young age, Aida Vee showcased her talent on a global platform. She represented Africa in the Napa festivals while attending Gayaza Junior School in primary/grade three, leaving a lasting impression with her performance.
House Of Toria
Driven by her passion for fashion and entrepreneurship, Aida Vee embarked on a new venture at the age of 15. She established her fashion brand, House Of Toria, which later evolved into VUCA. This streetwear brand embraced the ethos of being Versatile, Urban, Comfortable, and Authentic, resonating with a diverse audience.
Settling in the United States
In 2017, Aida Vee’s journey led her to Kenya before eventually settling in the United States of America. It was during this time that she revitalized her musical career, rekindling the flame of her earlier work from 2015, aptly titled “Est. 2015.” This playlist, brimming with the spirit of good times and youthful love, captured the hearts of her growing audience.
Music Release
Continuing her artistic progression, On August 26th, 2022, Aida Vee released “Komawo EP,” a 4-track collection centered on a forbidden love story involving a young woman and her disapproving Ugandan-African father. Praised for its captivating melodies, powerful vocals, and distinctive style, the EP has garnered acclaim for its empowering message of love and empowerment.
Building on the success of “Komawo,” Aida Vee is preparing to unveil another EP this year. Which promises to showcase her artistic growth and innovation. With each release, Aida Vee continues to captivate audiences with her exceptional talent and unwavering passion, solidifying her position in the music industry.
